Blind Dog Isn't Limited By Handicap

by Danny Davids(39)

While surfing the 'net this week I stumbled across the story of an absolutely amazing dog. Riddle is a one-year-old Border Collie who was born with no eyes. This doesn't seem to bother him at all, as he runs, plays fetch, swims, and even catches a ball in midair. Riddle was turned over to the Hull's Haven Border Collie Rescue organization in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, several months ago because his owner could no longer control him. Aggressive and afraid of everything, he seemed a lost cause. But Sally Hull, the owner of Hull's Haven, saw something in the blind Border Collie and began working with him. After training and being treated like a normal dog, his attitude changed completely. Looking at him play with his packmates, you'd never know he was the same dog.

" He is the most amazing dog I have ever met, " Hull says. " We are hoping to use his courage to teach children that having a disability does not mean you can't. "

Currently Riddle is in the running for a contest where the winner will be photographed for the cover of " Modern Dog " magazine. If you wish to vote for Riddle, you can do so here. In the meantime, you can see how this loveable dog reacts to the world around him by visiting his YouTube site.
