New 2010 Guinness Record Holder - Giant George Tallest Dog Ever
by Lorrie Davids(428)
Move over Hercules, Gibson, Boomer and Titan- there is a dog out there bigger than you! February, 2010, Guinness named Giant George, a Blue Great Dane owned by David Nasser of Tucson, AZ as the tallest dog. When George "stands" he measures seven feet, three inches from his had to his tail. George weighs 245 pounds, less than Hercules' weight and three inches longer than Gibson, the dog who held the title until his death in August, 2009.
George's height when standing on all fours is 43 inches. That measurement is taken from his paw to his shoulder. George is only three-fourths of an inch taller than Titan, a Great Dane owned by Diana Taylor who was the most recent title holder.
George had a bit of controversy about his size, enough to warrant a visit from a Guinness representative who confirmed George was larger than Titan.
George, celebrity that he is, appeared on Oprah Winfrey's show February 22. Nassar says George sleeps on his own queen size bed and has his own Website here
Pictures, more information and a You Tube video of Giant George can be found at http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/287998.

Thanks, Linda, for taking the time to read and comment. Yeah, my white Shepherd looks puppy-sized compared to Giant George. Can you imagine buying the food?
