"Twilight" Star Goes Team Jacob! Kristen Stewart's Wolf-Dog Pet

by Danny Davids(39)

For all those young girls who fight over the two heartthrobs in the "Twilight" movie series, it's either "Team Edward" or "Team Jacob."  Maybe they should follow the lead of actress Kristin Stewart, who plays Bella.  While her character may vacillate back and forth between the Vampire and the Werewolf, in real life her mind is made up:  It's Canis lupus all the way!

In an interview with David Letterman, Stewart shows picatures of her wolf-hybrid pet, Jack, who "falls at my feet" and is "really sweet."  Her mother breeds the animals and has experience in dealing with their unique temperament.  Stewart was quick to point out to Letterman that the animals are safe, but can be difficult to raise.  And when he joked that people would be racing to their phones to call and order wolf pets, she responded, "Don't do that!"

Letterman asked if it was legal to raise wolf-dog hybrids, to which Stewart replied "Yes."  However, the laws concerning ownership of wolf-dog hybrids vary from state to state, so what may be legal in one state may not be in another.

Seeing a picture of Stewart cuddled up with Jake on the couch may make audiences go "awwww".  Is this an indicator that Bella will pick Jacob over Edward?  Those of you who have read the books know by now.  In the meantime, I'd recommend that "Team Jacob" fans support their favorite werewolf by donating to organizations that protect the wolf, rather than trying to bring one home as a pet.  It's easier, and safer, and you don't have to clean up any unsightly messes.
